John Goldschmidt is an experienced attorney in the Saxton & Stump Intellectual Property Group, along with the Commercial Litigation and Franchising, Licensing and Distribution groups. He has more than 30 years of IP law experience, working for both large, midsize and boutique law firms throughout the Philadelphia area. A registered patent attorney registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), John advises clients in how to strategically leverage their intellectual property to grow their business. That includes the development, acquisition, monetization and enforcement of patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret rights. John also assists clients with intellectual property issues which arise in corporate transactions. He has extensive experience in drafting, prosecuting and enforcing domestic and international patents and patent applications. 

 After receiving his undergraduate degree in Mechanical and Systems Engineering from Drexel University, John worked as a project engineer for more than four years before entering law school to earn his J.D. from Rutgers University Law School in Camden. John returned to his alma mater as an adjunct professor in intellectual property law from 1999 to 2005. In his community, John is Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors of Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor and continues to serve on that Board. He has also chaired the Board of Directors of Citizens Diplomacy International, is a former Board Director of the Overbrook School for the Blind and is a current member of its Facilities Committee.
